Support for Communities

Food Pantry

Simply described, a food pantry differs from a food bank in that it distributes food directly to those who may be hungry. Food banks help food pantries by distributing food.

Food pantries can be permanent or mobile distribution centers. Food pantries are often a neighborhood's only source of free, safe, and nutritious food, as well as other important services like nutrition education, health screenings, seasonal food baskets, and back-to-school supplies. The purpose of a community food pantry is to provide direct assistance to local citizens who are hungry or food insecure in a specific area.

Clothes Distribution

One of the most important reasons to donate clothes is how many people it helps. It helps those who can’t afford clothes, disaster victims, veterans, and even people with diseases. By donating your clothes, you create a supply of quality clothing for people who could otherwise not afford them. Whether you're donating directly or giving your items to a secondhand shop, those clothes are going to people who don't have many alternatives.

Christmas and Holidays

Chances Community Center proudly adopts children for the holiday. This will provide many families who are struggling a chance to make their child’s dream come true and receive a gift for Christmas.
